Zen & Zero

After "Endless summer" in the 60's, Bruce Brown's classic that brought a completely different story for the movies of surfing at the time, the production of gender had a good chilled. Few were the films about the sport and most of them showed only the surfers in action. The picture began to change recently, with fine documentaries about surfing - including the Brazilian "Surf Adventures". However, the best of them is undoubtedly this one.

The argument of "Zen and Zero" is sensational!

Five Austrians traveling to Los Angeles to meet Allan Weisbecker, a legendary surfer who lost her home after a hangover, and to continue supporting themselves, decided to enter the trade sector. He and his friend, Christopher, started selling marijuana. One day, they packed them a launch of Columbian good. However, the Coast Guard picked them up and the boat sank. After that fateful episode, the two friends parted.

Time passed and Weisbecker turned novelist and screenwriter of the TV series "Miami Vice". One of his books, "In Search of Captain Zero", motivated the Austrian surfers to make a trip to Costa Rica to promote the meeting of two old friends. For Europeans, if the sea was flat (no waves, for the laity), at least have a good story.

If the argument itself is worth, the technical part is not back. Beautiful photography, spectacular environments, excellent soundtrack and the most delicious of all this: a text sensational! The search for the perfect wave and the Captain Zero, as Christopher was known, also turns into a gripping narrative, taken with philosophical, mathematical, esoteric and existential. Master molds Hunther Thompson and his Gonzo Journalism!
